Yes I kinda started out as what they call a squid, shorts, t-shirt and sometimes no helmet.
However at the point of this crash I was on my way from squidness. I was at least wearing jeans and a riding jacket, gloves and ankle covering boots. I then got myself a full set of leathers, real boots and gloves.
The bike sat in my garage untouched until spring of '96 when I decided to start rebuilding it. I did not have full coverage, so I did not turn it in to my insurance company, my guess is that it was totalled :), what do you think? I love a challange though.
My left foot caught the tank as I flew over the handle bars, man did my ankle swell up. Bed ridden for 2 days
Pretty much the whole front end was shot, that is what happens when you hit a cement driveway wall, the bike looses. The frame was ok, the exhaust got a few scratches, and the motors clutch basket cover actually got punctured. So all I needed was a little engine welding done in a few spots where the screws went and a new clutch cover, some new plastic all the way around and a tank, and pretty much everything on the front. So I started making calls, I hardly ever buy stuff new, unless it is critical like seals, gaskets, etc. I found a good deal on a set of '94 blk/prple/yel fairings and tank from a guy that took them off to race. I located some forks, bars, and a set of black wheels and other misc stuff and I was back in business.
